  • Diet: Eating for Spring

Spring is a time of awakening. As plants and hibernating critters awakening from their cold and dark winter spend in the depth of the earth; our digestion awakens. Now is the time for spring greens like nettles. The nettle's sting is tamed in a steam cook; an excellent cleansing green full of nutrients and minerals. Use caution to only pick from areas free of pesticide or road runoff. Other spring delicacies are fiddle heads, miner's lettuce, sorel (just for flavor, no nutritional value) and spruce-tip tea. Know your plants and picking area before using.
